The Registered Society

AFF became a Registered Society, under the name “Alunkal Family Fellowship Kandanad” (AFFK) in 2008 with a revised constitution, enabling full participation to all progenies, male and female, of the ancestral forefather Shri Itteerah.  The society acts in accordance with the Travancore- Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Society Registration Act, 1955 (Act 12 of 1955) and to empower members of the Fellowship in charitable, spiritual, educational, scientific and heritage activities with the following objectives:

  1. Institute educational endowments to foster learning.
  2. Help charitable work in the area of community health, relief and welfare.
  3. Caring the aged, sick, and destitute.
  4. Participate in the funerals and offer prayers and spiritual rites for the departed.
  5. Impart knowledge in cultural, scientific, spiritual and educational spheres and foster communication.
  6. Undertake research into heritage aspects and chronicle the same for the present and future generations.
  7. Encourage sports and artistic talents

The Annual General Body, held on 13th January 2008, at Kandanad unanimously approved the new constitution and a 14-member Governing Body (Executive Committee), paving the way for statutory recognition of the Alunkal Family Fellowship as a registered society.

Executive Committee

Executive Committee is a 14-member elected body consisting of Office Bearers and members. The Committee is freshly elected every year by the Annual General Body. There are also co-opted members serving in the Committee in different capacities. A brief of the EC members are provided below:

President- Dr. A.C.Paul (Paulosekutty)

Dr.  Paul is one of the founders of AFF. He is the son of late Shri A.T.Chacko. He is a noted environmentalist and an atomic radiation scientist of International repute. Dr Paul played the key role in formulating the programmes and activities of the Fellowship. He was Working President of AFF since 2003 and was elected President in 2005. He is credited with making AFF a Registered Society. He is also instrumental in starting AFF Bulletin (now, AFF Newsletter) and also the AFF web-site as the mouth-pieces of the organization.

Vice-President- Shri Avirah Varghese (Varghesekutty)

Shri Avira Varghese is one of the founders of AFF. He is the son of late Shri A. A. Avira. He was former officer with the Rubber Board. His dedication and organizing ability are the support planks of the organization. He was the Treasurer since the inception and got elevated to the post of the Managing Treasurer when the Fellowship obtained registration in 2008. The General Body of AFF elected him as vice-President in 2009.

Managing Treasurer- Shri Elias Abraham

Shri Elias Abraham is one of the founders of AFF. Son of late Shri A. M.Abraham and the younger brother of our Patron Thirumeni, Elias is an Officer with M/S Indian Potash. He is also the Head Master of St. Mary’s Sunday School, Kandanad. Shri Elias is closely associated with the activities of AFF and guides the spiritual programs of the organization. He was elected the Managing Treasurer of AFFK, in 2009.

General Secretary- Smt. Lilly Varghese

Smt Lilly is one of the founders of AFF. She is daughter of late Shri P.V. Abraham (Pavoodathu) and wife of Shri Avira Varghese. She is ex-employee of the Kerala High Court. Smt Lilly is an excellent hostess and event manager, whose skills are of special help in organizing the Family Meets. She was elected Secretary (Organization) AFFK in 2009. She is holding the post of General Secretary, AFFK, since 2011.

Secretary- Smt. Sanuba Kurian

Smt Sanuba Kurian is one of the founders of AFF. She is daughter of late Smt. Saramma Kurian, the founder vice-President of AFF. She played key role in documenting the Family History. She also co-authored the Family Directory. Her experience in social and charitable activities is a special asset to the Fellowship. Smt Sanuba is elected General Secretary AFFK in 2009. Presently, she is holding the post of Secretary (Organization)

Secretary- Shri James Thomas

James is the eldest son of late Shri A.C. Thomas. He is a post graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from CUSAT with vast industry experience in electronics, telecom and information technology, working for various multinational companies. He was also a faculty in Engineering under Kerala University. 

Convener- Shri Sherin Baby

He is son of late Shri A.C.Baby and a young entrepreneur. He is also member of important Church Committees, including the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Christian Association.

Treasurer- Shri Paul Mathew (Unni)

He is son of late Shri Mathai and a businessman by profession. He leads a life of devotion and regularly contributes spiritual articles in AFF News Letter. He is also Convener AFF Newsletter Committee.

Member- Adv. K.A.Prakas

Adv. K.A Prakas is one of the founding members of AFF. He is son of late Shri Abraham (Kochokken) and former Sr. Manager of Indian Rare Earths Ltd. He is now a practicing lawyer.

Member- Smt Santa George

She is daughter of late Shri A.M.Thomas and wife of Shri George Peter, Pattasseril. Smt Santa is well known for her social and charity related activities.

Member- Dr. Suresh Mathew

He is son of late Shri A.C.Kunjukunju and serves as the Head of the Department of Chemistry in Mahatma Gandhi University.

Member- Shri K.V. Mohandas

Shri Mohandas is the son of Shri Varghese Kattezhathu. He was Dy. Labour Commissioner of Kerala State. He is presently Manager St. John’s HS, N. Parur.

Member- Shri A.A.Abraham (Avarachan)

He is son of late Shri Pappachan and a former employee of FCI. Shri Abraham is an agriculturist and an ardent organizer.

Member- Shri A.M.Yohannan

He is son of late Shri Mathai and former employee of a Gulf company. He convenes Family Awareness Meets and prayer meetings of the Fellowship.

Member- Shri Vinoy Thomas

He is son of late Shri A.C. Thomas and a senior professional representative with Life Insurance Corporation of India LTD. 

Co-opted Member- Shri Saji John

He is son of Shri A.M.John and a business man. He is actively involved in the programmes of AFFK

Co-opted Member- Shri Arun Paul

He is son of Dr. A.C.Paul and an Interior Designer by profession. He assists in computer documentation works of AFFK.

Co-opted Member- Shri Anoop Paul

He is son of Shri Paul Mathew and a practitioner in Chartered Accountancy. He helps in the internal auditing of AFFK accounts.

Co-opted member- Shri Eldho Vinoy

He is son of Shri Vinoy Thomas. He is Civil Engineer and helps in the design and operation of AFFK website.
